Service Event with Friends of the Mississippi river Sept. 18

Help restore native trees and shrubs in a wildlife area along the Mississippi River in Hastings.

The Twin Cities Illini Club will join Friends of the Mississippi River on Saturday, Sept. 18 to help restore native plants in the floodplain forests and marshland of the Gores Pool Wildlife Management Area. The area has been cleared of buckthorn and invasive species, and volunteers will spend the morning planting replacement trees and shrubs. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
 

All tools will be provided at the event. Volunteers will work in small groups and are encouraged to maintain social distancing during the event.
